Ariana DeCosa

Ariana DeCosa, LPA

Ariana DeCosa, MA, LPA, is a fourth-year doctoral student in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University, where she is pursuing her PsyD. She has experience working with adolescents and adults across diverse settings, including inpatient military mental health units, state forensic units, and community mental health clinics. Her clinical training includes a year at the Antioch Community Counseling and Psychology Clinic and a year with Spectrum Psychological Associates, where she provided individual therapy and conducted comprehensive psychological assessments.

Ariana approaches the therapeutic space with the understanding that difficult emotions are a natural part of the human experience. Her approach is grounded primarily in strengths-based practices and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), emphasizing clients’ resilience, existing resources, values, and capacity to work through difficult emotions. She strives to create a warm, collaborative, and supportive environment where clients can build on their strengths and move toward the meaningful life they want to create. She also draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and somatic approaches to help clients navigate difficult thoughts and emotions, increase awareness of mind-body experiences, and develop practical skills for coping with life’s challenges. Her approach is flexible and individualized, with interventions thoughtfully tailored to each client’s needs, goals, values, and lived experience.

Outside of clinical work, she loves watching hockey, baking, cycling, and spending time with her dog.
