We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all model of therapy. Our clinicians draw from a range of evidence-based approaches and tailor treatment to who you are, what you’ve experienced, and what you’re hoping to move toward.
Trauma-Responsive Therapy for Adults
If you’re carrying the weight of trauma, complex trauma, dissociation, or other difficult experiences, you don’t have to figure out how to heal on your own. Our therapists provide individualized, evidence-based care grounded in respect for your story, your identity, and your pace.
What We Treat
Our clinicians provide trauma-informed therapy for a wide range of concerns, including:
- Complex trauma and childhood abuse or neglect
- Post-traumatic stress (PTSD) and acute stress reactions
- Dissociation and dissociative experiences
- Interpersonal violence and relationship trauma
- Attachment disruptions
- Grief and loss
- Identity-based harm and discrimination
- Anxiety, mood concerns, and relational difficulties
- Trauma related to chronic illness, chronic pain, or medical experiences
- Stress and trauma specific to first responders (firefighters, paramedics, law enforcement, corrections)
Our Approach to Treatment
We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all model of therapy. Our clinicians draw from a range of evidence-based approaches and tailor treatment to who you are, what you’ve experienced, and what you’re hoping to move toward. Depending on your needs and your therapist’s specialization, this may include:
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
- Narrative Therapy
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Feminist and intersectional therapy approaches
- Motivational Interviewing
- Animal-assisted psychotherapy (with certified therapy dogs, for select clinicians)
Whatever the approach, our care is grounded in the same foundation: cultural humility, non-pathologizing language, and a belief that you are the expert on your own life.
Who We Work With
We welcome clients across the lifespan and across identities, with particular experience serving:
- Survivors of childhood maltreatment and complex trauma
- LGBTQ+ individuals, including transgender and gender-nonbinary clients
- BIPOC communities and clients from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds
- Disabled individuals and people managing chronic health conditions
- First responders and public safety professionals
- Individuals navigating identity-based discrimination or systemic harm
What to Expect
Therapy at PATH starts with getting to know you — not just your symptoms, but your history, your strengths, your goals, and what healing would actually look like for you. From there, we work collaboratively to build a plan that fits your needs and evolves as you do.
Sessions are available at our Everett and West Seattle offices, as well as via secure telehealth for clients throughout Washington State.
PATH is a nonprofit training site for doctoral psychology interns. Depending on availability, some therapy services may be provided by supervised trainees under the direct oversight of a licensed psychologist. We’re happy to answer any questions about who you’ll be working with.
